A3 - Pip Charlton
I have been a Soft Tissue Therapist for over 25 years, working both clinically and as an educator. I have been privileged to be a part of NZ High Performance Sport travelling to both Olympic and Commonwealth games as a massage therapist although my work in the sporting arena now is more limited. Seven years ago, I was introduced to the world of Lymphatic Drainage and I now incorporate many aspects of this modality into many of the soft tissue treatments I give. I love the variety of conditions and situations that can be treated using this amazing but undervalued modality.
Lymphatic Drainage… But Not As You Know It - 1.25hrs
On talking with other therapists a few years ago, I became aware that some people's perception of how this modality can be used was limited so I decided to put together this seminar to encourage therapists to think outside the square. I feel like I am still a newbie to this area, gaining new understandings with every client I treat, often relying on my referral network of other health practitioners to "complete the picture" in terms of helping clients resolve their issues. I will be presenting client case studies relating to chronic sinus and chest infections, post-surgery (musculoskeletal and cosmetic), autoimmune conditions, adrenal fatigue, general low energy and malaise, athlete recovery. This seminar is aimed particularly at those therapists who learnt Lymphatic Drainage as part of their training but don't really use it a lot and want to go away with more confidence and knowledge to start using it more holistically with clients in their everyday work.
