Kia ora members,
Our meeting with Martin Chadwick from the Ministry of Health is on the evening of Thursday, 2nd December. This gives us little time before the COVID-19 Protection Framework (CPF) is implemented.
Massage therapy is currently classified as a close contact business, and we recommend you operate as a close contact business until we can get clarification from the Ministry of Health exactly what is meant by medical massage, who can perform it and are we then permitted to see unvaccinated clients.
As a designated close contact business, you cannot see unvaccinated clients in the red or orange traffic light system. If you do - you may be liable for up to a $15,000 fine.
Once we have clarity and/or definitions from the Ministry of Health we will share that information with you as soon as possible, so you have some certainty.
Some clients may be feeling anxious about returning for treatment, under no circumstances should members be subjected to abusive or threatening behaviour from clients. If you find yourself in this position your own safety is paramount. We invite you to contact us if you need support.
