Massage New Zealand announces new Executive Committee

MNZ is very pleased to announce that as of 12th December 2016, a new Executive Committee is in place.  After what has been a trying past few months without a full Executive, a great deal of work fell on the shoulders of a very small team of three Executive members and two part-time administration staff. This was followed by the recent resignation of President Jo Smith.  The organisation was seriously having to consider whether it could continue to function and was facing some difficult decisions.  As a membership organisation, MNZ relies on members to fill positions on it's Executive Committee, as well as Publicity, Education and Conference sub-committees and in other non-executive posts such as the, Iwi and NZQA Liaison positions, Regional Coordinators and Magazine Editor.

Following an open letter to all members of MNZ at the end of October, a number of committed MNZ members have stepped up on behalf of all MNZ members, to take on the challenge of steering MNZ forward into its next phase and hopefully securing its continuation.

The new Executive Committee is:

• President: Helen Smith
• Vice President: Teresa Karam
• Treasurer: Reina Reilly
• Education Officer: Rosie Greene
• Publicity Officer: Karley Skinner
• Research Officer: Bronwin Boswell
• Regional Liaison Coordinator: Donna Roy

Together they bring a range of skills and experience, as well as a passion for the profession of massage therapy and a desire to actively contribute to the organisation and industry.  We look forward to having them on board and working with them over the next 18 months.
