Ko Patsy Kainuku āhau

Kia Ora, my name is Patsy Kainuku and I whakapapa to Tūhoe. I consider myself a practitioner of many modalities and look forward to sharing space & time at the Massage Aotearoa New Zealand Conference 2024.

Patsy has navigated a unique journey of practitionership working as a clinically trained social worker in the mental health and addiction sector as a therapist & supervisor for 17 years before moving into the Māori advisory space in the areas of, social work regulation, Te Tiriti o Waitangi best practice and Māori, Crown engagement.

Patsy grew up in Murupara nestled at the foothills of her Tupuna Te Urewera, the pine forests of Kaingaroa and the flat plains of Kuhawaea. These spaces provided the learning and teaching to her mahi i te ao Wairua. As a Kaiwhakaruruhau Rongoā practitioner Patsy draws upon these experiences to support people in their healing, growth and transformation journey.

Patsy is currently completing a Masters of Health Science, Māori Health focused on exploring how Wāhine Māori Advisors draw upon Wāhinetanga to inform their practice in government spaces and will be speaking about the concept of Rongoā & Professional Supervision at this years conference.
